Zack Allison

The whole story…..well almost.

Zack has been racing since Juniors. Coming up on the east coast, the DC area had very developed road racing scene. Zack left DC for Fort Collins Colorado to race for Colorado State Universtiy, and do some studying. Amazingly he graduated in 4 years with a Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology and a few naitonal medals in road and track cycling. Out of College he started his coaching career with Source Endurance while continuing his racing career. In 2014 Zack, and Source Endurance, founded the Source Endurance Training Center of the Rockies, a cycling focused training studio in Fort Collins. Wile coaching, running the gym and racing, Zack found his way onto Mercy Cycling Development Squad, which turned into Think Finance, which turned into Elevate Pro cycling in 2013. On Elevate Zack lead the National Track Calendar for most of the year, while missing key track races to win Team Time Trial nationals, place third at the national criterium championships, and win Elite team pursuit nationals that year. Zack was on Elevate pro cycling through 2016 when he made his way onto Team Clif Bar. TCB had more of a criterium focus and Zack saw success on Team Clif Bar with multiple years of podiums on the USA crits overall standings and a win at San Rafael Twilight in 2018. In 2016 Zack did a one off gravel race, at that time known as Dirt Kanza 200, Zack placed 9th. Going into the pandemic the road scene was wavering as more opportunities shifted towards gravel racing. Enter Team Bike Sports, Whitney and Zack taking the gravel scene by force. Now in 2024, the 3rd year of the full blown gravel program, they’re mixing it up in races, media projects, while still taking on bike fitting, coaching, and FoCo Fondo

Zack Started coaching for Source Endurance in 2012. It seems like everyone is a coach at this point but Zack enjoys using his Exercise Physiology degree and over 10 years of experience coaching to gain his athletes real physiological gains and results on the international stage. Zack maintains around 20 athletes year round with major national and international success in road, track, and gravel.

Zack starting fitting bikes for people while working at Revolution Cycles in Arlington, Virginia around 2007. Post studies while starting the Source Endurance Training Center of the Rockies, he recognized the cycling gym was the perfect place to provide bike fit services to Colorado cyclists. As the training center closed pre pandemic the fit studio thrived. Now, since 2020, Bike Sports fit studio resides at 111 w Olive st Fort Collins, inside Brave New Wheel.

FoCo Fondo was started by Zack and his racing teammate Jake in 2015. Back then it was a glorified group ride. There were aid stations, there were racing segments with cash prizes, but it was almost a bit early for the actual gravel boom. Now, in 2024, FoCo Fondo is run by Zack, Whitney, and a small but mighty crew of race organizers. FoCo Fondo has grown to over 2000 participants and is one of the larger gravel events of its time. With a little luck, and community understanding, FoCo Fondo hopes to transcend the gravel frenzy and last for years to come as just a big ass cycling event people love.
