Johnstown Intro to Gravel Ride

Starting location from Johnstown Scheels. It’s a bit trickier to find the dirt down there but we did it!

This one is for the kids!! This route was originally for a Scheels collaboration for FoCo Fondo. It’s the perfect opportunity to test run a gravel ride with the kids from Scheels Johnstown. Almost 6 miles and nearly 200 feet of elevation, we journey on low-traffic dirt roads around Scheels before heading back. Pick up a few items for the fam from Scheels after or have lunch at the cafe.

• Distance: 6 miles

• Paved: 50%

• Climbing: 200 feet

Notes: Classic Colorado smooth dirt and gravel roads.

Refills: New Belgium always has water options on the way out and beer options for the way back.

Tires: Pretty much any tire will get it done, if you’re adding trail bits, choose a WTB Resolute or Nano for the most fun!
